A child's safety is of utmost concern to St. Rose. St. Rose of Lima Early Childhood Center provides a safe environment for our children with a key card access system. All doors providing entry into the building remain locked at all times and can only be opened with an office issued key card. Only parents and staff receive key cards. ECC adheres to the City of Houston fire and alarm guidelines ensuring that each classroom, office and the kitchen have smoke/fire sensors. The playground area is completely fenced in and is accessed by exiting the building. All classrooms have observation windows allowing for visibility of staff and child activities. Telephones are provided in each classroom for ease of communication.

Both staff and children participate in fire drills and learn what to do in case of an emergency.
