RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS AT ST. ROSE

Bible Study And Scripture Sharing

Tuesday is Scripture Day at St. Rose!

5:30-6:30 PM in the Administration Building. Deacon John Murrell facilitates. This group looks at the scripture readings used in the upcoming Sunday liturgy. The primary aim of this group is to surface practical skills for living out the values expressed in the Sunday readings.

6:30-8PM in the Administration Building.
Current topics for Living with the Spirit of the Word are The Parables from the Little Rock Bible Study Series. Women’s issues shared and discussed with a Biblical perspective. Our mission is to create a community of love between the four generations of beautiful women age 15-85+ in our parish and Archdiocese.

Confirmation

This program is for practicing adult Catholics (over age 18 and out of high school) who have already received the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, and who now wish to receive the sacrament of Confirmation.  St. Rose and St. Ambrose parishes work together to offer this six-week series each year after Easter. Upon completion of the course, adults are confirmed by a Bishop on Pentecost at an Archdiocesan celebration. Contact: Connie Swenceski   email or 713-692-9123.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.)

RCIA is the process by which we bring adults into the Catholic faith, and through which they are prepared to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. The RCIA journey provides a living experience of the Church, in addition to knowledge about the Church. In the RCIA, we come together to form community, to pray and to learn.

Unbaptized adults come into the faith through the sacrament of Baptism. They will be Confirmed and receive first Eucharist at the same time as their Baptism. Adults, who have received valid baptism in other faiths, come into the Church by making a Profession of Faith and completing the Sacraments of Initiation – Confirmation and Eucharist. This preparation is a one to two year process. Most gatherings are held on Sunday mornings. Contact: Connie Swenceski email or 713-692-9123.
