Confirmation

Confirmation deepens the process of initiation into the faith which began at Baptism. It brings additional strength for the journey and strengthens the connection with the faith community. The candidate is anointed with oil as a sign of strength as a Christian.

Confirmation preparation for youth normally takes place during the 9th and 10th grades. First-year candidates must be students of a Catholic high school or attend a Pre-Confirmation course offered by the parish. All second-year candidates must satisfactorily complete a nine-month period of preparation offered by the parish.

Confirmation I: This is a catechetical program for those students entering ninth grade in the public school. This class is a pre-requisite for those students who wish to enter Confirmation II.

Confirmation II: This is a nine month program preparing those who have completed Confirmation I in a religious Education Program or have attended Catholic High School the year prior to enrolling.

RCIA Adapted

RCIA Adapted is for junior high and high school aged youth only.

This is the process through which unbaptized youth prepare for and reflect on the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation for reception into full communion with the Catholic Church.

Public School Outreach

The Confirmation I program is offered to students at Waltrip High School. The classes are held on the school campus after regular school hours. Registration for these programs is held during regular Religious Education registration.
