RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

This program allows children seven years and younger to participate in the Liturgy of the Word portion of the Sunday Mass in a space separate from the main assembly. At the conclusion of the opening prayer, but before the first reading is proclaimed, the presiding priest may formally ask children who wish to participate to join their minister and celebrate their own Liturgy of the Word. Children are returned to their families in time to celebrate the Eucharist together. The program will be offered at all 10 a.m. Masses for which there are enough volunteers.
