The Continuing Christian Education (CCE) program at St. Rose Parish has a five-fold mission:

    1. To enable EVERY member of the St. Rose Parish Family to grow in the understanding of their Catholic faith, thus growing in their relationship with God.
    2. To assist the St. Rose Parish Family in living out the tenets of their faith.
    3. To form our children and their parents, as well as the entire St. Rose Family to be properly prepared to receive the graces that flow from the frequent reception of the Sacraments.
    4. To participate in the St. Rose Parish Mission of “making room for all at the table of the Lord through loving service.”
    5. To assist parents in fulfilling their baptismal commitment to nurture their children in the way of our faith.

Children in CCE classes experience a deeper awareness of the presence of Jesus in their everyday lives through prayer, Bible study and interactive learning. The CCE educational year begins in September, with registration held after all weekend Masses during the month of August.

  •  Boy Scouts

Boy Scout Troop 40 and Cub Scout Pack 40 are part of the Skyline District, Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. They have been sponsored by St. Rose Parish for over 50 years. The Pack is made up of dens for Tiger Cubs (1st grade/age 6), Wolves (2nd grade/age 7), Bears (3rd grade/age 8) and Webelos patrols (4th & 5th grades/ages 9 & 10). Boy Scouts (6th-12th grades/ages 11-17) are organized into patrols and earn ranks leading to the ultimate goal of Eagle Scout. Patrols and dens gather weekly (3-4 hours per month) at parish facilities for age-appropriate activities, including meetings, field trips, crafts, athletic and academic award activities, competitions, camping outings and service projects. Both the pack and the troop meet monthly for awards and recognition.

The purpose of the Boy Scouts of America is to provide an educational program for boys and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of citizenship and to develop personal fitness. Contact Rick Wrobel at 281-330-8869 for more information.

  •  Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts of the USA is the world’s largest organization for girls, serving more than 2.3 million around the world in a six-level program (Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior and Ambassador) for ages 5-17. The organization’s mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. Scouting provides girls with opportunities for fun and friendship while fostering the development of leadership skills and self-esteem and providing a dialogue of acceptance and respect.

Additionally, the Galveston-Houston Archdiocesan Committee on Girl Scouting is committed to fostering the spiritual development of the Catholic Girl Scouts in this Archdiocese and the development of youth ministry in the Catholic Church by providing programs for Brownies through Ambassadors to earn Catholic religious recognitions. For more information, please contact Leslie Haydel at 281-748-8616.

Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program. It provides a safe fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. Edge resources speak to the physical, psychological, cognitive, relational, and spiritual maturation of middle school youth.

Edge answers the needs of this age group in a catechetical, fun, and relevant way and provides a foundation for youth to continue onto Life Teen. EDGE offers teens an opportunity to experience growth in spirituality through faith formation, building community, service projects, social activities and special events.

  •  Life Teen Mass
A Life Teen Mass is celebrated one Sunday a month at 5:00pm. Contemporary music is part of the youth liturgy, and teens take an active role of service during the Mass.  They are invited to lector, usher, offer the gifts, and, if the teen is a Confirmed Catholic 18 years of age or older, they may serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.
