Sacrament of Baptism

To have your child baptized at St. Rose, it is necessary for parents to attend a set of two Baptism Preparation classes on the first two Sundays of even-numbered months. (April, June, August, Etc.) This preparation is strongly recommended for Godparents as well. Baptisms are currently held on the date requested by the individual family. Contact the parish office to register for Baptism preparation classes or download the registration form, complete it, and submit it to the parish office. Questions regarding Baptisms can be addressed to Deacon John Murrell at the parish office at 713-692-9123.

We Kindly request at the time of submitting baptism registration, all the necessary paperwork below is provided. We are unable to provide a date or present your baptism registration to our priest if any of the requirements below are missing.

Requirements

  1. Completed baptismal registration form.

  2. OFFICIAL - Vital Records birth certificate – Verification of Birth Facts, Keepsakes, or other forms are not Vital Records.

  3. Baptismal Preparation Class Certificate from classes within the last 3yrs.

  4. Parents who do not reside within the parish boundaries must visit their zoned parish to obtain a letter from their local pastor. ( Please see attached letter for further details.)

  5. Preference in English or Spanish for the Baptism Celebration?

  6. Preference of Priest or Deacon to preside over the Baptism Celebration

  7. The date would you like to baptize? (Our priest will revise and contact you to discuss availability once all the requirements above have been received).


Baptism Preparation Series 

The series (in English) is generally held at 1 p.m. on the first two Sundays of alternate months.

Please verify the times and dates with the parish office if you would like to be added to the list.
