First Reconciliation & First Eucharist

Preparation for the celebration of the sacraments is in addition to our regular ongoing faith formation. For those students not currently enrolled in Catholic School, please ensure that you are visiting our CCE page and registering for both programs.

Requirements for Participants in our Sacramental Preparation Program:

  • must be baptized in the Catholic faith.

  • must be at least 7 years old and attending 2nd grade or higher. 

  • must have completed at least one year of faith formation, with good attendance, immediately preceding the year of sacramental preparation.

  • must be currently enrolled in religious education classes, whether in our Faith Formation process (CCE) or in a Catholic School.

    • Children enrolled in a Catholic School should include with their enrollment a letter attesting to their enrollment and attendance for the current and prior year.

In the Fall, the children & youth prepare to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation. This process consists of four Sunday morning sessions with a parent or legal guardian present, and a retreat for children & youth only. A communal First Reconciliation is scheduled for the group on December 10, 2022.

In the Spring, the children & youth prepare to receive the sacrament of First Eucharist. This process consists of four Sunday morning sessions with a parent or legal guardian present, and a retreat for children & youth only. A rehearsal is scheduled for the Friday before the First Holy Communion Masses.
