Chili Cook Off

Every year, St. Rose of Lima brings together the Men’s Club and Troop 40 to host the St. Rose Chili Cook-Off. As scouts in Troop 40, we organize into our patrols and get to work preparing large pots of our own homemade, custom chili recipes. Each patrol practices and perfects their chili, ready to present it to the Men’s Club for tasting and judging.

The Men’s Club assigns judges who taste every chili and rank them based on flavor, creativity, and overall presentation. The patrol with the highest-ranking chili wins the cook-off—and their reward is a big dinner of free chili to enjoy! It’s a fun way for us to showcase our teamwork, cooking skills, and friendly competition while supporting a long-standing church tradition.
