Divine Mercy Sunday
✨ St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church invites you to join us ✨
🙏 Join Us for Prayer & Adoration
Come and experience the healing mercy and love of Christ. We will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3pm in the Church.
🕊️ Sunday, April 12
🕒 3:00 PM
📍 3600 Brinkman St, Houston, TX 77018
⛪ In the Church
Spend an hour with the Lord in Adoration, prayer, and reflection as we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday.
💫 “Jesus, I trust in You.”
🤍 All are welcome.
On the Second Sunday of Easter, the Church celebrates Divine Mercy Sunday—a day given to us as a profound reminder of the boundless mercy of God revealed in Jesus Christ.
In the Gospel, the risen Lord appears to His disciples and speaks words that echo into our lives today:
“Peace be with you… Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them.” (John 20:21–23)
This moment reveals the heart of Divine Mercy: Christ meets us not with condemnation, but with forgiveness, healing, and peace.
The devotion to Divine Mercy was entrusted to the Church through St. Faustina Kowalska, who recorded Jesus’ words in her diary:
“I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls… The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment.” (Diary, 699)
Jesus’ message is simple, yet powerful:
“Jesus, I trust in You.”
Divine Mercy Sunday is an invitation to:
Trust more deeply in God’s love
Receive His mercy through the Sacraments
Extend that mercy to others
As Scripture reminds us:
“His mercy endures forever.” (Psalm 136)
“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” (Luke 6:36)
This Sunday, we are invited not only to remember God’s mercy—but to encounter it.
We invite you to join us for an hour of Adoration at 3:00 PM in the Church on Sunday, April 12th as we pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy together as a community of faith.

Since then, churches around the world decorate Altars with meatless foods, flowers, candles, and fruit to honor St. Joseph’s Feast Day, March 19th.
All donations received will go to the St. Mother Teresa Ministry as they continue to help assist and serve the seniors in our community. RSVP for this event is required.

Stations of the Cross
WALK WITH HIM. WALK WITH US.
Stations of the Cross
Join ACTS for Stations of the Cross
and enter more deeply into the heart of Lent — and stay for a Lenten soup meal and fellowship afterward.
Friday, March 20th @ 6 PM
Lent is not meant to be observed from a distance. It is meant to be walked.
At Stations of the Cross, we step into the final hours of Christ’s earthly journey — not as spectators, but as followers willing to stand near the Cross. We move station by station, bringing our burdens, our families, and our intentions with us.
This is where strength is refined.
This is where pride is surrendered.
This is where faith becomes personal.
And after we pray, we gather.
Following Stations, we will share a Lenten soup meal, an opportunity to slow down, connect, and build the kind of community that strengthens followers in their vocations.
Two Ways to Get Involved:
Sign Up to Participate in Stations of the Cross
Help lead Stations of the Cross.
Help bring food or drinks.
Whether you’ve walked the Stations for years or this is your first time, come. Bring a friend.
You don’t have to walk alone.
Let this Lent be different.
Let it be deeper.
Let it begin at the Cross — and continue at the table.
Burgers & Brothers
Join other men of the parish for an evening built around burgers, brotherhood, and the kind of fellowship that happens when you put your stress down and sit at the table. Whether you’ve been around the parish for years or you’re just looking for a place to belong, this night is for you.

Dear brethren,
As you may have heard, forecasts are calling for inclement weather this weekend across Houston and the surrounding areas. At this time, our regularly scheduled weekend Masses and Confessions will continue as planned.
Out of pastoral concern, I would like to remind you that Canon 1248 §2 teaches that when participation in the Eucharistic celebration becomes impossible for a serious reason—such as illness or another grave cause—the obligation to attend Mass does not bind. Dangerous travel conditions, or a reasonable fear of such conditions, constitute a serious reason. In these situations, the faithful are encouraged to devote themselves to prayer personally or as a family.
Therefore, anyone who is unable to attend Mass this weekend due to severe weather, unsafe road conditions, or a well-founded concern for personal safety is not bound by the obligation to attend Mass. At the same time, if circumstances prevent you from coming to Mass, I strongly encourage you to sanctify the Lord’s Day through prayer, by reading the Sunday Scriptures, praying the Rosary, making a spiritual communion, and uniting your prayers with the sacrifice of the Mass being offered.
Please know that you remain in my prayers for a safe and peaceful weekend. May our Blessed Mother wrap us all in her mantle of protection.
Sincerely,
Fr. Jacob

Giving Tuesday 2025
Dear St. Rose Family,
Our community is growing! This past year, more than 300 children were enrolled in our Faith Formation programs here at St. Rose of Lima.
This Giving Tuesday, our goal is to raise $20,000 to support our Faith Formation Elementary and Youth Ministry programs. Every gift—big or small—makes a meaningful difference. Reaching this $20,000 goal will directly strengthen the programs that form the heart of our parish’s future. With your support, we can ensure these ministries have the resources they need—moving us one step closer to fully funding the $20,000 we’ve set out to raise.
Your generosity will help us enrich our curriculum, provide ongoing training for our catechists, and expand our learning spaces so that our young disciples can continue to grow in faith.
Thank you for supporting the future of our parish family!
