Orlando Miguel Herrera was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, and spent most of his life in Houston’s Clear Lake area. His Tejano, family-centered upbringing fostered a love of service, leading him to participate in various ministries at his home parishes of St. Bernadette and Annunciation. Through these experiences, Orlando discovered the joy of serving God’s people through the Church.

The call to the priesthood first entered Orlando’s heart in early 2020. Several providential affirmations, his discovery of the Traditional Latin Mass, and many hours spent in Eucharistic Adoration became important catalysts in his vocational discernment.

In early 2022, Orlando entered formation as a seminarian for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. After four years at St. Mary’s Seminary, he is beginning the next stage of his formation—a pastoral year at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Community.
