Troop Courts of Honor

Boy Scout Troop 40 holds three Courts of Honor each year—in May, September, and December—where we celebrate the accomplishments of our scouts. These ceremonies are an important part of our troop because they recognize the hard work and dedication scouts put into earning new ranks and merit badges and it brings together all families to build lasting memories.

The May Banquet Court of Honor is a more formal, sit-down event where scouts and their families come together to share a meal. It’s a celebration of the entire year’s achievements and a chance for families to enjoy time together while honoring the scouts’ hard work.

The Fall Court of Honor in September is usually the largest, since scouts return from summer camp having completed several merit badges. This is a time for the troop to come together and celebrate all of those achievements and set the tone for the coming year.

In December, at the Christmas Court of Honor, we not only recognize scouts’ accomplishments but also take a moment to honor our adult leaders. These leaders dedicate countless hours to guiding and mentoring the scouts, and this Court of Honor is our opportunity to say thank you for all they do.

Courts of Honor are more than just ceremonies—they’re a way for Troop 40 to build community, highlight personal growth, and inspire scouts to keep setting goals and working toward them. For families and scouts alike, they’re memorable events that celebrate the values of Scouting: service, leadership, and personal achievement.
